It makes me think that the skin lies elsewhere (maybe a registry entry?), but I see no obvious way to remove/replace it. I have tried uninstalling the one provided by ASUS and installing the latest HD audio codec from Realtek, but:ġ) The driver does not appear to actually work - no sound comes out and many applications freeze, hang, or error saying they can't play soundĢ) Somehow the ASUS ROG skin for the Realtek HD Audio Manager REMAINS even after uninstalling ASUS's version and installing Realtek's version from their site. If this is unlikely/not possible, however, I would like to know how to remove the AUS ROG skin from the Realtek HD Audio Manager. This is functionality that I would like to see in a future update to the AUS ROG ALC1150 Codec. Not only that, clicking on the jack icons on the right after they have been plugged in brings up the same dialog box so that you can repurpose them dynamically. Realtek HD Audio Driver OS : Windows 8.1 64bit,Windows 8.1 32bit,Windows 7 64bit,Windows 7 32bit,Windows 10 64bit,Windows 10 32bit PG431 467.70 MB 2 Chipset LAN SATA RAID/AHCI USB 3.0 USB 3.1 BIOS (+2) Utility (+15) 1. It looks similar, but plugging in a device in the **REAR** jacks (the ASUS version only does this for the front jacks) brings up a dialog box for 'which device did you plug in?'. That's fine, but in Realtek's implementation: Notice the jacks that are plugged in are colored, while the ones that aren't plugged in are grayed out. The screenshot below shows my main concern: I have a Maximus VI Hero, and after recently setting everything up and updating my audio drivers to the latest found on the ASUS ROG site (Version 601.6923), I noticed that the ROG version of the Realtek HD Audio Manager is crippled in certain functionality compared to Realtek's own HD Audio Manager (which I used in my previous setup).
